We are pleased to welcome Billy Harfosh to the virtual pages of The Eloquent Atheist. Clearly a man of minimalistic lifestyle (see his bio), Billy also knows how to evoke maximum emotion from minimal numbers of words. We hope we have formatted this poem in the manner that Billy intended. Perhaps if we have not, he will let us know where we have gone awry. Regardless of formatting, you are sure to enjoy what Billy has to say and how he says it.
This life is beginning to represent something raw and unchanged
The constant rudeness the violence and the collisions
Disease and death-Love and Hate
Tears-and for what?
Where is the endgame
When does she flat line
Torn apart families
Rabid dogs bite innocent children
The ice caps melt and the saints die off
Gloom darkens as the big wave lingers
Politicians politely pollute
Teachers teach what they are taught
The ignorant locomotive roars on
Living and breathing through these lungs
We are at the mercy of our next breath
Lets hope this is all just an optical
illusion
